With the upcoming election, I've discovered that my friends post more political messages and memes on social media than ever. I think about the quote, "Your vibe attracts your tribe," so perhaps they're searching for people who resonate with their thinking. But then there's the other side, "Your opinions might scare the minions."

While I've made great strides these past two years fighting Hashimoto's, I still needed to catch up to where I want to be healthwise. I began researching other doctors to get another opinion and found a chiropractor in town who also has Hashimoto's. A few weeks ago, I started his program, which includes health coaching.

Like many Americans, I watched in horror at the attempted assassination attempt of Donald J. Trump. All politics aside, I would have been equally horrified had this been Joe Biden or any other world leader or politician. The fact that someone wanted to alter the fate of our political process by manipulating the results through attempted murder is unconscionable.

Our beloved golf cart of three years needed serious help. The paint was chipping off, the support for the back seat was broken, and we blew out the Bluetooth speakers. It rattled and shook when we drove it. The estimate to fix it was $6000, or we could buy a fully loaded new one with a warranty for $9000. We opted to get a new one.

I recently had to run for election to the board of my condo association. I campaigned on the following: Vision, Proven Leadership, Experience, Honesty, Integrity, Transparency, and Fun. After giving this some thought, these are the values I put into everything I do, whether it be hypnosis, Airbnb rentals, or managing the affairs of our condo association.

As we get ready to celebrate America's Independence Day this Thursday, it's time to remember that many countries celebrate this day to commemorate the day they gained freedom from another country's rule. Last year, I attended a workshop on The Laws of Attraction. I was thrilled to share my Rate-A-Date worksheet with the attendees. However, there was another gentleman there who was a professional pickup artist, or, as we like to say in the world of hypnosis, a member of the seduction community. He was a big dude, well over 6', bald, wearing glasses and overalls. He shared how he systematically picked up women on dating websites, step by step, and at one time, was dating 30+ different women.

A few weeks ago, I went on a vacation with several of our friends, and one of the ladies bought some wooden race cars and fairy light kits for anyone who wanted to do them. Memories of all the arts and crafts projects I did as a child came flooding back. I was an only child, and my mother was always looking for ways for me to entertain myself. I remember doing paint-by-number kits, making pot holders with a weaving loom, various jewelry-making devices, a pottery wheel, and building rockets and car models.

A few weeks ago, a terrific opportunity came up. Friends of mine asked if I knew anyone who might be interested in purchasing their "vacation club membership." The perks included membership to a club along with thousands of vacation points. It was perfect for what Doug and I wanted and had been looking for, but was it a good deal? We began asking around. Other friends we knew had a similar deal and paid a lot more. We researched online and discovered we were indeed getting a good deal.
